  2.         I maintain an archive on ftp.cis.ksu.edu (129.130.10.80) in
  3.    the directory /pub/Games/Empire .
  4.  
  5.     Following is a listing of some of the code, tools and documentation
  6.    for Empire, a war/geopolitical/economic/strategy game played via
  7.    the InterNet or on local hosts, using a client/server protocol.
  8.    For more info on what EMPIRE is see the WhatIsEmpire-FAQ.txt file
  9.    found on the Archive.

  15. -----------------------------Mail--------------------------------------
  16. For all those unfortunates who don't have Internet ftp access, I've
  17. setup a mailserver to provide access to the archives on
  18. ftp.cis.ksu.edu.
  19.  
  20. This mailserver can be contacted via mail one of the following
  21. addresses:
  22.  
  23. ...!rutgers!depot!mailserver  (UUCP)
  24. mailserver@cis.ksu.edu        (Internet)
  25.  
  26. The server accepts commands given in the body of the mail messages;
  27. help is available with the command "help".  
  28.  
  29. A listing of the files in
  30. the story archive may be obtained by "dir -l /pub/Games/Empire".
  31.  
  32. Since the files archive consists of binary files, they must
  33. be uuencoded before they are sent on their way.  To specify this mode,
  34. use the command "encode uuencode"  To retrieve the files, use the
  35. "send" command (ex:  send /pub/Games/Empire/clients/empclient-1.1.tar.Z
  36.  
  37. If you have a system which cannot handle ZIP files, you may use
  38. the "unzip" filter ("encode unzip") 
  39. which will send you the uncompressed (but not uuencoded) version of the file.
  40.  
  41. Here is an example mail message:
